There is a Monkey on your chest

It’s review day here at Becoming Homegrown and today I am going to be speaking about t-shirts and laundry detergent.  Yes, that is right everyone, hang on to your hats, it is that exciting!

In the past couple months I have received a few opportunities to review items and I apparently forgot that I actually signed up for some.  I was reminded of this fact when I received the shirt from TShirt Printing.net in the mail a few weeks ago!  What a nice surprise! A free shirt, to review….

Tshirt Printing is an online store that is located in the United Kingdom and they specialize in….Printed T-Shirts!  Amazing!  Tshirt Printing.net creates fun shirts that are readily available for purchase (as the one seen below) or they can create a personalized variety. Ya know, in case you want a bulk amount for your family reunion,  graduation, bar mitzvah, etc.  I think you get the idea.

When I received my t-shirt and I opened the package, I instantly remembered why I jumped into another review.  There was a monkey’s face involved.

Funny tshirt printing by tshirtprinting.net

Is this the color I was expecting?! No. I was expecting the gray one that was posted however who am I to sneer at a free monkey shirt that no one else has?!  I instantly put it on and my husband told me that I really could light up a room and even though I agreed with him, I was not too disappointed!  It actually fit fairly well. I usually choose fitted shirts and this regular t-shirt did not swallow me whole.  I did not look like a beached whale.

Now, I did wash it with my Purex Complete with Zout before really wearing it around and to test out it’s “Pre-shrunk” claim.  Did the Purex do a great job?  Yes. Is Purex awesome in every way possible? Yes.  Did the shirt shrink? A little.  It was a little tighter but not a gigantic difference.

The color remained in tacked after the washing.  I was actually hoping it would dull out a bit but alas that monkey and it’s BRIGHT blue background stayed solid. It is still bright after two more washes.  You can see me from outer space if I went outside.

Now, in all honesty the t-shirt is pretty good.  Will I wear this shirt out?  Probably not.  It is too bright. The shirt itself is good quality, it has not shrunk again and the coloring does NOT fade.  If I needed to create a my own shirt, maybe with BECOMING HOMEGROWN stamped across the front, I would probably head their way.

So my rating from 1-10 (10 being the best) probably around an 8.  Will I be returning to Tshirt Printing.net site?  Maybe. I am really starting to like that Becoming Homegrown t-shirt idea.  Who wants one?!

Chocolate Prize Pack Giveaway!

mmmm…chocolate….mmm…brownies……mmm Free chocolate brownies!

I was recently given the opportunity to try out Pillsburys’ new Sweet Moments Brownie selection.  Yumm-o!  I really enjoyed the bite sized brownies that were ready to eat.  They are the perfect size and not too sweet.  They satisfy the craving and I didn’t overindulge.  (I have a major sweet tooth)

Pillsbury was really nice to me.  With the free coupons for the brownies they sent me a set of magnets and a t-shirt!  I know that I am advertising Pillsbury when I wear it but it is really comfy and I recently had to throw out all my t-shirts because of major stains from working in the garden. Perfect timing!

Now, would you guys like to get some free desert and a t-shirt?  Here is your opportunity.  Blogspark and Pillsbury are sending out a prize pack with a VIP coupon for free desert (try them for yourself!), cute magnets, a necklace and a t-shirt!

All you need to do to get the prize pack is leave a comment and tell me you would like a shot. I will use random.org to pick a winner….That depends on how many people participate! If only one person wants the goodies than more power to them!

Alright, I am off to work on some hats!

No – not me. Even though my eighties outfit would have made you look twice…

I am a Christ follower. I may not blog about it often but it is a true hardcore fact about me. I love Christ with every fiber of my being and it is Him that gets me through my day when I think that I can’t handle it anymore.  He is the guiding light for our family and it is only through Him that we are who we are today.

That being said, I occasionally recommend other blogs that I find to be wonderful, inspirational, funny, or just pretty much awesome.  Today it is:

No judgement allowed!

Do you love Star Wars?  Have you seen every episode, even the really bad ones?  Do you think Han Solo is kinda hot?  What.. wait.. It is just me?!
Maybe my love of Star Wars stems from the fact that I have two boys and a husband that love everything about those movies. They even like Episode 1! (That is the Pod racing movie when Darth Vader was still a little kid) We watch them ALL the time.  My little boys are always pretending to have light sabers.  We all quote lines from the movies and even have put one on our cell phone so it pops up every time we turn the phone on.
Fanboys isn’t a spoof on Star Wars.  It is a comedy about a group of geeky college kids that make it their mission to “break into the Lucas camp” and watch a pre-release of Episode 1.  The entire movie follows them on their way and I have to tell you, I was laughing the entire time!  I don’t typically like movies of this nature (college frat boy humor) but there is something about this one that made me laugh.
If you watch it and hate, I am really sorry and please don’t judge my personality on this one movie! It is a guilty pleasure!
