Newborn babies are the best

I recently received a new batch of photos for my store.

These babies are so absolutely perfect you can almost smell the new baby smell.

Try not to fall in love…

Or not want another baby.

Behind the scenes of newborn photography session

When you see a picture of a newborn in a hat, sling, pod, or in a strategic position the first reaction is always “AWWWW, that is adorable!”.  What you don’t consider or even think about is what is actually going on behind the scenes. The pink baby is always so cute that it is almost impossible to imagine anything else.

Here is a small glimpse of the behind the scenes work:

I am hopping around on the sidelines trying to convince her to look at me while the photographer works her magic….

Photography session with baby

Yesterday we had a session with a newborn and I don’t think it could have gone better.  However when you see the amazing shots (they haven’t be edited yet)  you will know what it looked like to us.

Okay, he is asleep and the light is perfect.  Take the picture NOW!

Interrupting a sleeping baby is never fun especially when you have to put a hat on his head

Luckily he was a forgiving boy and went right back to sleep even after the last minute touch up.

This isn’t the final shot from the photographer but it will give you an idea

Newborn photography session are always a crap shoot.  We have worked with babies that  did not want to be handled or asleep and then we get the babies like this little guy, perfect and adorable.  After these sessions and final photos I am reminded why I love my business.

Mom Reality

This Saturday has been a lazy, nothing gets done kind of day.  A real pleasure actually. In fact, as I was twitter stalking some of my favorite blogs, Bloggy Moms posted a post from Bossy Mom about what her home really looks like when company is not expected.  (She actually got the idea from Everything and Nothing from Essex)

Sounded like fun.

I copied their posts.

Here is my Saturday home.

The lazy day Saturday reality picture. The kitchen/dining room has been converted into a fort for BOYS only.

The Saturday morning kitchen islandOur Saturday morning island. Let’s see…I have a homeschooling catalog open, Star Wars puzzle, the infamous black lantern, hats, candles, coffee. Wow, a lot of crap.

My Saturday Morning work space

Here you can see my crochet work and the trusty laptop on my twitter account of course….

I did not venture into other parts of the home because we primarily stay out here in our common area.

There ya have it.  The reality of a Saturday morning at home when no guests are expected

Angry Bird Coffee Cozy

I am a gamer.  A big one.  I typically play on the xbox but recently I was introduced to a game on my phone that I can’t get enough of….Angry Birds.

I chose to honor the game with my crochet skills.

The blurry double ringer came to visit!

If you follow my Facebook fanpage (you should follow it because it is extremely amusing and I am always on it…whereas here it is about a weekly thing) you know that I have been anxiously waiting at my door for the UPS man to show up with my box of goodies.

I was literally standing at my doors peep hole every time I heard a big truck….waiting for this guy…

Oh, oops, ha ha, that’s not MY UPS guy…this is the Google image of a UPS man that popped up after I searched “cute UPS man.”  *Cough, Ahem*  Moving on…
My UPS man is a blur and a double ringer.  Well, the blurry double ringer paid a visit to my house yesterday!  And because I am such a geek this is what I was so excited about:
YARN!  A box full of yarn! I was having difficulty finding some of these colors at my local fabric/craft/everything under the sun stores so I went online.  The best part is that I finally got BROWN COTTON YARN
Now, you have every right to be laughing at me.  This is a pretty dorky post but I had to share it with you. I will now also tell you that I watched the double ringing blur drop off the package on my porch, ring the doorbell and jog back to his truck ALL FROM MY PEEPHOLE.   MWAH HA HA!!!

Need a good title…Need a good title… Oh forget it – Read me.

Hey…are you guys still there….I know I am not a frequent poster but I do still post….. Onwards…

If you are a regular reader than you already know that I am currently adapting to a new schedule and a new life.  It is a little odd but I know we will eventually hit a sense of normalcy and until that point my posts and probably my life will be erratic at best.  That is a good blog name, Erratic at Best.  Take it if you want it, consider it a little gift from me.  Ugh, I digress AGAIN -

Since the five year old is off to school in the AM my 3 year old and I have some time together and we are actually enjoying it.  Yesterday we went into the garden to massacre more squash bugs, pick some bell pepper and get some lemon basil for drying.

Look there is his hand trying to grab the yellow bell pepper.  No, this picture isn’t posed at all…..right. It took me bribing him with chocolate milk to get this picture

After picking and washing guess what else I did……

Mopped the floor.  My husband was actually standing on the right hand side making fun of me for this picture….Now that I look a little closer I think I could have done a better job. Oh well.

Finally – Here is my newest creation.

Better pictures will be taken tomorrow in the sunlight.  Cheapo Crapo doesn’t take great pictures in general and when you add poor lighting everything looks bad.

Now that I have told you my happenings what is everyone else up to with their kiddos at school?

My wrist hurts

It has been awhile since I posted….Well, at least in the bloggy world it has been a while.  We have been hit pretty hard with a lot different situations in the last couple of days so my desire to do anything has all but diminished.

I did, however, make some new items.  Very relaxing and I am adding to my inventory:

I also just got some GREAT patterns for new hats! I am so excited about them!!  The green one up top is actually one of the new patterns, Sweet Pea.  Now I need to find a baby to try them on!!

I heart making things…

My hands were getting antsy again…nothing major but they are fun!

I truly love making washcloths…. Oh and yes they are for sale!
